Past: Mannaz. What is drawn to our attention about our past is the
human factor. For this grove, of course, this past year has been a
time when our human resources have been impressively augmented. On
the one hand some of our most active original members have faded
away. On the other, we have in the recent past become stronger than
we have ever been.

Present: Algiz. The present in which we live is one in which there
is enormous focus on security, protection, defence. Our deities are
reminding us of this and reassuring us that they are looking after
us. We do need to be prudent, wise and thoughtful in our actions,
and we are under the watchful eyes of those who care for us.

Future: Othila. We are being reminded that the future is a time for
us to focus on our home. At one level, this means to continue our
growth as a grove here, with, perhaps, awareness of our place as
being within this national capital. On another, especially after the
so awesome ritual conducted recently at the War Memorial, we are not
to forget that along with everyone else on the planet, our’s is the
duty to remain aware that we are dwelling upon the homeworld of the
human species.
